About Tarkett Surface Manu
Tarkett USA has roots to several separate companies, but mostly stems from two: Tarkett and Domco. Domco was the oldest company, having started as a linoleum manufacturer called Dominion Oil Cloth back in the early 1870s. Meanwhile, Tarkett was originally based in Sweden, and by the late 19th century had acquired a reputation as a renowned flooring manufacturer. In the 1970s, Tarkett was bought by Swedish Match AB, whom would later rename themselves Tarkett after merging with another German company, and partnered with the Harris Hardwood Company to form Harris-Tarkett, which became a respected name in the hardwood flooring industry. Meanwhile Domco had been building its reputation as a leader in commercial linoleum and vinyl floors, acquiring the companies Azrock and Nafco. In 1999, Domco acquired both Tarkett and Harris Tarkett, and the companies formed what we know today as Tarkett.Tarkett is one of the leaders in resilient, hardwood and laminate flooring in North America, second only to Armstrong. Their products are known for high quality and durability, maintaining their place in the market by continually keeping up with the latest flooring trends. All Preference Plus styles feature Nature's Touch textured embossing to add realism, an AquaGuard backing that helps prevent subfloor moisture damage, the Guardian Protection system that strengthens the vinyl's core, a 6 year limited warranty, and rolls in both 6' and 12' rolls for added flexibility in installation.
